Vision after thymectomy

Anybody notice bleary vision after their thymectomy? I'm not sure if its the thymectomy or the muscle relaxants as they put me on both pretty close to each other. I'd really like to get new glasses, but am afraid my neurologist will tell me to wait a few weeks.

If the vision clears when you cover one eye, then it's double vision symptoms from the MG. Glasses may or may not help, and if it is MG causing the issues, it is usually recommended to wait until things stabilize for a several months before doing things like getting prisms, new glasses, etc.

This isn't double vision...I have that too and am dealing with it with prisms or tape over the lens. This is my actual vision has gone from 20/25 to 20/50 and my near vision has had a similar decline. My neuro said to wait a week for the anesthesia to get out of my system and then go for an eye exam. Its really annoying.

are you on prednisone? and if so do you notice a difference in day vs night vision? (day being much worse in my case)

If both of those were a yes then you may or may not have cataracts. Those were the two biggest things that made my diagnosis of that so easy. That and the huge white thing in my pupil when they dilated it.

If thats the case it really isnt a huge deal especially coming off of something like a thymectomy. I Just had the surgery on both of my eyes a couple months ago. You go in the morning get the lens put in and walk out that morning, come back for a follow up with the surgeon and do the same thing a week later. Those two weeks are a little trippy with your depth perception being all whacked out and one of your eyes being covered while your out and about. but other than that its super easy compared to the thymectomy.

More surgery :( ...But yes, it is slightly worse during the day. I don't see any whiteness yet, though. Neuro said to wait a week. Maybe it'll go away on its own (fingers crossed). Was on 60mg for over a year, went down to 35 for surgery.
