How do you front delete on a virtual keyboard?
Hi.
I am quickly learning all things tablet related. But I have one more thing to master on the virtual keyboard. And this is a BIGGIE!!! You know, when you want to delete something you have typed you have to tap the backspace key (right side of virtual keyboard). you keep tapping and it keeps backward deleting. How do you FRONT delete anything? There is no delete key on any of my virtual keyboard tablets (as there is on the keyboard i'm typing on right now because I'm on my PC). So if they didn't put a DEL key on the virtual keyboard, how do we front delete any thing we want to delete? Thanks much Melody |
Maybe tap after what you want to delete and go from there backward?
found this, it's for HP touchpad, but probably most work much the same.. [If you hold the Delete Key long enough it will begin deleting one letter and the progress to whole words. If you want to speed things up...hold down the Shift Key and Delete to get that backspace a hopping.] http://forum.webosroundup.com/index....dden-keys.481/ |

I know about deleting backwards. I want to FRONT delete. Imagine that you are on your keyboard in front of you PC. Look down. There is a delete key (under the Insert key). When you delete something it deletes anything to the right of it. I want to be able to do this on my tablet. On either one of my tablets, there is NO delete key. I wonder why?? I don't see a way to do this (well, I haven't learned yet), lol Melody |
Yes I read it all but my explanation didn't come out right I guess.
I meant tap at the front of what you want to remove and go backward from there.. Did you read the other posts on that link about holding certain keys and other options will come up? Maybe that has a better answer in that part. |

Hey, at least I found out. Now everybody knows. This is so cool. I ask questions, I find out the answers and i can then tell you and if anyone asks, now you know. 3 weeks ago I knew NOTHING about virtual keyboards, tapping a capacitative screen etc. and now look what I'm doing! And I wanted to see if Kindle Fire was Bluetooth supportive because when one has a typing speed of 145, how on earth can one type on a virtual keyboard. Someone suggested I look into whether Kindle Fire supported Bluetooth. I didn't even know what Bluetooth WAS. How cool is that? Now I know. And Kindle fire does not support Bluetooth (at the moment). When the new one comes out, hey!!!!!!! lol Thanks very much for all of your help. Much appreciated. at least I learned something more than sprouting. lol Melody |
