Hi! I realise that it is 8 years since you wrote this, but I want to share my experience. This summer I was fitted with a new Codman certas plus VP shunt, since my Strata was causing overdrainage and low pressure within the skull. I have been having a similar noise ever since when I am standing up and/or working out, like a mechanical kind of buzzing noise or, as you described it, some kind of pump. If you see this, did any neurosurgeon or so figure out the problem? My team knows nothing of what to do, so any info would be greatly appreciated.
