Food Diary...serious Thread Only....

for posting daily food intake. Would this help others? I think it would help me to see others that have trouble staying on plan and show others that CAN stay on plan, to help each of us TO SUCCEED and point the way to what helps or henders our diet goals. I have had so much cognitive trouble lately and depression, so I would just write ...pain...depression..brain fog, sad, happy, gooday, etc. on my post and for the day, to help myself remember or another member, to see what caused my eating habbits that day. I wouldn't go into detail...just a simple word to describe mood for the day.

I just think we need a place to be competely serious about "D" whether we are doing well or having a time sliding down hill.

Maybe something like?......
Anne...breakfast boiled egg,
Lunch 3 oz tuna, french styled geen beans
Dinner baked fish, corn, green peas, salad
fruits..2 apples etc.
snacks: fruit, sugarfree popsicicle etc

same thing would go for off days
whatever we ate for the day
example:
breakfast-cookies
lunch-pizza,
dinner-steak, potato, salad dessert
night binge...list all the junk?

Anyone game for this type thing and if so somebody like Lizzard or whomever can word it, please start it.

I still want to play and have fun, just not on a serious thread, so that maybe new people that want to join and are looking for help, will find place to have their needs met, then come to our fun posts.
We have such a good time, yet I feel that many more would join if we could keep it(diary thread) simple, and strictly for diet concerns. Hope this is OK to say and doesn't sound harsh or something? Sure don't mean it that way.
Hugs and blessings, Anne

Hi Anne,

I would very much be interested in this. I do lack control when it comes to journaling though as sometimes with my depression I just don't get motivated. I think though this place would be a good place to try to be motivated enoug to keep a food diary.

This is absolutely the way to go. I am completely lost without journaling, and you can tell where I slid off plan. It was always because I didn't journal.

Also, make sure to journal all of it--especially the binges and "no-nos." (FYI, there are no "no-nos" with WW, but even if I'm over points, I journal it all.)

It's a good idea to journal as you're eating so you don't. Planning too far ahead can derail you if you change your mind, but plan when, how much, and have an idea of what you'll eat the next time. Even if you binge, you'll see it in writing and learn from it. Trust me; I know! :)

LIZARD :)

P.S.: My journal for the day so far:

Breakfast: Egg, turkey bacon, and Laughing Cow sandwich: 8 points
Lunch: Shrimp and Broccoli (Chinese) with white rice and egg drop soup: 8 points.

I have 26 points for the day, and I add 5 weekly points to each day so I get all 35 weekly allowed. (I actually lose faster that way.)

P. P. S. Adding on...

Snack: Doritos: 3 points

Dinner: WW-ized Grilled Cheese sandwich: 6 points

Dessert: WW Smart Ones Choc Chip Cookie Dough Sundae: 3 points

TOTAL:= 28 points :)

Hi Lizard,

Breakfast: chicken thigh (with skin)
1/2 cup of rice
Lunch: about 8 oz of chicken breast maybe
2 teaspoons of mayo
Supper: 3 slices of delux pizza
Snacks: 1 bag of popcorn
4 Slim Fast Optima (460 calories total)

I can see why I never feel good because I don't eat well. I usually will sometimes eat a lot of vegetables.

Hi guys,

Great thread. I have to say that one of the things I often go back too is a diet i tried a couple of years ago. Since I am a lazy eater (ie lazy cook) I joined this LA food delivery service. It was based on the zone diet and they delivered the food everyday. I would get a breakfast, lunch 2 snacks and light dinner. I lost 30 pounds in 6 months and dropped my cholesterol almost 80 points.

Anyway I saved all of my daily menus in case I wanted to try to recreate the diet on my own. So here is a sample...

Br: 1 scrambled egg whites and 2 turkey links
Lunch: Bowl of Turkey Chili and 3 crackers
Mid Afternon snack: 1 sting cheese and 5 peanuts
Dinner: Southwest chicken with beans
Snack right before bed: Slice of Salami and 3 pices of melon

The food was good, all zone balanced and i was never hungry. I can dig out some of meal combos sheets and post em.

I also just recently went to a nutritionist. Her advice was your plate should be 2/3 veggies and a piece of protein. I have recently cut out all the white carbs (ie flour and sugar). So far so good.

Have a good night
