Mouth, Throat, Stomach, and ehem (female stuff)
In the last few months, the RSD has spread almost everywhere (originating in my left wrist/hand). I've had "issues" in the female area for a while...was so hoping it was low estrogen, but got word yesterday that it wasn't. I think I really knew it was RSD just by the way it felt and the worsening pain. Would love to talk privately to other females who deal with RSD issues in that area! Please PM me if you do!!
Ok, so the mouth has given me problems in the past. I got thrush several years ago from using Advair for asthma...3 times before my doc finally took me off of that drug. So I've had spurts of thrush off and on since then when I would take certain medications, but learned what to do and could alleviate it quickly. This burning now is different from thrush. Everything burns going down. At first I thought it was my narcolepsy med causing the burn from my mouth all the way down to my stomach, but then I realized anything burns. My narc med is liquid and I drink it fast...plus it's sodium...so it is apparently just irritating the crap out of it. I've noticed when I try to drink anything more than a small sip at a time, the burn is horrible...can take my breath away and cause me to cough. It burns when I take sips, too, just not as severely. Oh, and hot drinks aren't fun at all. Food hurts too. I can't eat it very warm, have to let it soften in my mouth before i try to chew, take small bites...and it still hurts. Funny...it seems there are certain areas it burns or feels sore that are worse than others. Before you ask, no I don't take anything other than ibuprofen occasionally for pain...taking it a little more lately. I have never actively been treated for any of the RSD...original site was being treated for the cause when I was diagnosed so I was already on pain meds anyway. I'm going to be contacting a new doc that my sleep doc recommended, so we will see how that goes. And invasive isn't an option (or would be totally last resort). Anyway, does anyone else deal with this kind of burn from the mouth down? I swear I almost forget to brush my teeth some morning cuz my mouth already tingles and burns like it does from the toothpaste! |
