any help welcome with post concussion syndrome!
Hi, It's helpful to read about everyone's experiences and post-concussion syndrome really is a difficult thing to have. Just over 3 months ago, I tripped on a step and hit my head. I'm still dizzy, am exhausted, can only manage short walks and have had a few anxiety attacks. I can't believe all this is happening from one fall! I've been working with many doctors and have been doing everything from western medicine to cranial sacral to acupuncture. I am far from being able to work (teaching childrens theater) and try to focus on the small improvements but get discouraged often. It's hard to be patient when this is taking so long and I feel so limited in what I can do. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Welcome Deb
You are doing a great job working to get things back to normal. It takes work to do that. It also takes time. Keep taking short walks. Increase the length a little each day. Also try building your strength. One of the things that helped me with dizziness was PT, but I also had problems with other issues so I had to go through PT for those. So see if you can go for a short lesson to get some home therapy lessons to work on dizziness at home. Donna:grouphug: |

Hi, to you both
So sorry for you injuries. It is hard to go from full speed to being a turtle on your back, at the worst of the event. It takes time snd understanding .. . So ask all the questions you can. Share what you feel comfortable sharing. I do recommend you start a journal. Keep things in it, like drs numbers. Record daily. Include meds, activities, food, problems and symptoms, dates you call regarding your concerns, ADLs, and etc. Take care... |
