mg and money
hi everyone wanted to ask if anyone that cannot work with MG is having or had a difficult time trying to get help? Im in a hard spot, running out of money and no one is there to help. Where can I go? I have applied for nh aid and for ssdi but what about ssi? What is SSI, I thought that SSI was SSDI? please help

Try looking on MGFA website resources. There is a PDF file manual for health care professionals and I think there was a chapter in there on resources as well as I think there was information on a link under patient resources that links to several other places you might seek assistance.
You might also consider joining local chapter of mgfa and asking locals where to turn Good luck. Stephanie |
SSI is for disabled people who haven't worked enough to qualify for SSDI. SSI pays a maxium of $698 a month, but SSDI is based on what you earned before you stopped working.
If you are not approved for SSDI, get a lawyer and appeal. You can get a lawyer who will work for a percentage of the lump sum (back-payments) you receive if you win the appeal. Abby |
okay, thank you for that. then i qualify for SSDI. I signed up for assistance from NH but they said I needed both SSI and SSDI, not sure why if I don't need SSI. Anyone have any clues on that? I am still at a loss for what to do with help from NH.

If your SSDI payment is less than what SSI would pay, then you can get SSI to supplement the SSDI. But states have their own rules and programs as well.
