Violent Parkinson's Patients?
 

I am sorry to raise what may be a depressing topic. But people are asking me this: is it dangerous to be with a PWP?

Some years back, near here, a PWP budgeoned to death a Parkinson's nurse who had gone to see him in his home every week for 5 years.
But he did not know who she was, he did not know who he was either. So it seems they are really talking about dementia. And I hear that a third of PWP also develop ALz. which can end in dementia. And there are, mostly undocumented, PWP with an endless range of other conditions - schizophrenia, skin cancer, drug addiction - hey, you name it, we got it. But let's say there is a PWP you don't know, and you are assigned to take care of that person for a day. Alone in your home. Is this a situation where experienced people would say, well look out for this and take precautions about that.
So, I have been asked if PWP in late stages become violent. How would you reply? Because I really don't know - PWP look mighty docile to me .. too docile...
I could tell them to look up info about dementia, that it is not specifically a Parkinson's danger; it is centered around dementia.
Feel free to denounce this; I don't know the answer and the question is not all that great either. In the broader sense, it's like: do they stop their conversation when you lurch into the room and fall down on the floor.
