UTI's

Hi yet again on anti-biotics for bladder infection, seem to be taking them a lot, I have to use intermittent catheters and was wondering if these are adding to the problem does anyone else have the same problem? I feel as if I am never away from the docs when will this ever stop......I have redone this post as I was feeling sorry for myself when I first posted....sorry shouldn't let it get to me.....marie:hug:

I dont have the answer to your question so I am sorry on that though did you ask the doctor who rx what they felt?
Just wanted to say hang in there and sometimes it is ok to vent about how you feel. It is a hard battle on every level but hold to hope things can get better.

Many drugs for UTIs are implicated in causing neuropathy.

The fluroquinolones top that list.(Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox)
Also MacroBid, (nitrofurantoin).

Safer ones are cephalosporin types, like Duricef, and doxycycline.

Thanks Daniella when I had first posted I had walked round the super market(30 mins) and when I got home my feet and hands were sooo sore, getting that I can't walk very far now without extreme pain so was in a bit of a downer but in the light of day things do not look as bleak, I didn't ask the doc but will next time......ty.......marie

Yes Weezie is doing well, thank you. Her fur has grown back, and the scab area is still there but the swelling is down. She has been a great surrogate mom and big sister to our little Maya kitten. There are some photos in my album here. Maya is coming around now, and no longer is afraid of everything. She is very very affectionate and we love her to pieces! LOL Weezie has been a huge help, even when she was not feeling 100%, she was nice and accepting of little Maya. I credit Weezie with most of Maya's strides in fact.
Weezie is a very special cat IMO. ;)
