Hello New to these Forums
You may have seen some of my posts but I have porphyria. I wonder if anyone else had a primary care Physician that just doesnt want to help. My doctor is very timid when it comes to treating me. All she basically does is my blood work and thats it. When I have a flare up and run out of medication for swelling or pain she wont even write a new perscription she says go to the ER. It seems like she doesnt want to deal with it. I find it frustrating and I'm not sure what to do besides drop her as my primary care.

Hi Hawkeye, and welcome to NeuroTalk! We're so glad you found us. My advice to you would be to definitely locate a new PCP. It doesn't hurt to shop around, ask friends or relatives to recommend a doctor, or check out doctors online. All my best. :) |

Hi
Thanks you guys, as for how my condition is going Ive had a flare up which its been over a year since I have had one like this. Right now just some GI discomfort and of course swelling and patecial ( unsure of spelling) hemorrhaging. Not very much pain this time thank God for that. Trying to educate my Fiance on the whole thing. Problem is when you are considered the "expert" it gets hard to explain. Any help would be great other then looking on the internet.
