Aubegio

BG-12 and then Aubegio has FDA approval. Waiting to hear from those who try either.

I have a neuro appt in November and I am going to ask about the bg12

I didn't think the BG-12 had been approved yet. The Aubagio was just approved and I think they said October for commercial release.

I started Aubagio

It took me about 2 months to finally get my starter kit for Aubagio. I've not taken it for two days. The first night gave me horrible diarrhea, prickly feet, feelings of nausea and it has made me fall because I am having a very hard time with walking now. I took my second dose and am waiting to see if my body can tolerate it better tonight. We shall see...

Doc, do you take 7mg or 14mg? Maybe the lesser doseage may lessen the sides?

I read about it and personally, don't like the possible unhealthy sides.

All that being said, I hope it works for you with minimal side effects.:hug:

Hi Sally,

I'm taking the 14. My neuro wanted 14 based on the comparisons but I really cant remember him saying 14 has a better outcome than 7. I thought he said they are about the same. I'm guessing he must have said 14 is better than 7 but really cant remember what he said. 7 is a good idea. I've had more prickly hands and feet, numb right hand all night and nausea. Walking has been harder and I'm super cranky.

For some people More is not always better.

I agree Sally and I'm such a light weight with meds. I'm nauseated all the time now

D0ct0rT 01-07-2013 03:29 PM

OK, I got my liver test back after only take it for about 7 days and it was much higher than the baseline reading so I stopped Aubagio this weekend. I still cant walk and my neuro will be upset with me for stopping, because as he said, "It cant help you if you don't take it." My opinion is "It was not helping me when I was talking it, in fact it made me worse" so I hope to stop being nauseated soon, very soon, and I hope to get my walking back to the way it was. I know my neuro wants the best for me but I know it is important to listen to the patient and don't tell the patient "that med can't do that!" when I'm the one living it and I know my body... Anyway, I am happy to be off.
