Downloading
Hello,
After closing a website my pc keeps down loading, is there a way I can trace the source as its not an update. Thanks |
Sounds like a bug of some sort..
Do a full shutdown to stop it. Then re start maybe run malwarebytes [ FREE DOWNLOAD If malwarebytes finds malware on your system using the free one time download, that means your current antimalware protection is not effective. ] http://www.malwarebytes.org/lp/malware_lp_form Many of the top antivirus websites have free scanners and free cleaners to down load - here's a top list - http://internet-security-suite-revie...enreviews.com/ If you read up about Hijack this it should be of help, but only for experienced users |
What antivirus do you use and which browser?
IE browsers are vulnerable to a new exploit , an update patch went out last friday check to see if windows & IE are fully updated. just posted a new thread with info. The Comodo website has free products - security & browsers. |
do you have a backup running?
Sometimes my backup saves things during the day, but then a screen comes up after the extended hard-drive run, to tell me of it. |
Define "downloading".
Downloading a file? A picture? How do you know its downloading? What flavour of Windows or is it an Apple? |

Do you mean your router lights are still flashing away? Do you use a WiFi router? If so is it secured (WPA/WPA2 PSK) ?
If you do have WiFi, do you have any other devices that may be accessing it? I know my mobile checks for certain application updates regularly. |
