US Federal DI

What are your chances of getting it? I live in CA and we have state DI insurance which lasts for one year, which used to be enough time to receive an answer from the Feds. I did, and they turned me down, saying nothing in my records showed I was disabled in any way. I know my co workers of the last year I worked wouldn't think so. I was quite disruptive without meaning to be and stressed beyond belief. I was often confused, and always forgetting something important.

Any way, has anyone know anyone who has gotten federal DI for memory/cognitive problems?

Catch,

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you mean did any of us leave federal employment (OPM) under disability retirement? If that is the question, I did and I think there is at least one other here.

Part of my MS symptoms at the time included cognitive and speech but I had out of control movements and severe fatigue and back pain as well. It was quite a long list.

I worked my last full day at the end of June that year, tried unsuccessfully to go back to work 2 months later. Filed for disability retirement and got in in December of that year.

I hope this helps,
ANN
