Getting through the next few months
Ugh, I keep getting this one bill from my car accident. That I'm sure
I paid. So I'm looking for the proof I paid it. (Now if this should ever happen again, I will do it lots different). Probably with a lawyer or something invovled so I don't have to deal with creditors. I just am having so much trouble dealing with these bills. And regular bills. But hopefully I've just about got them straightened out. 1. I'm still paying on a couple of big bills that are medical from hospitals that were put together. And I had to pay on time. 2. I have 3 credit cards. I've been paying down. I have one that will be paid off soon. Within I think 5 months. First question for my friends is if I can pay extra on my other two cards. Do I pay down my bigger credit card total. Or the littler card. So I can pay it off too. 3. When I'm done with this stuff. I will have one credit card left. I have to have one, for my business stuff, in case I have to stay overnight. But I am finally seeing at least a little of the end. I started with way to many credit cards. And was digging us a really big whole. I've paid of two or three so far. I was moving the total around and paying it off. Or would it be smart to move the total to one card. And pay it all off that card? Anyone have any ideas. If you got through this all. I would love some ideas. Donna |
Okay that is my cards mess.
Next I will have to figure out how to pay for meds again soon. My husband is working outside. So he will be have to quit his job, if they don't lay him off. He wont be able to handle the 30ft off the ground in the cold. Without really good warm clothes. The place isn't letting them dress warmly. Its not the best of a situation. I'm at this point hoping he makes it to the end of October. Or beginning of November. And then either our business picks up more jobs. Or the union locally can get him to work. He should be close to the top now. But I am not looking forward to no money again. Donna:grouphug::hug: |

Donna, what are the interest rates? that is what you need to think about, paying off the highest interest rate card first. OR if you can get a lower interest rate set for a year, you know those transfer balance checks they send you to combine balances at a lower rate then you have to pay them off over that year and they will then switch over to a much higher interest rate. some times it is easier to get a small loan we did this with ours thru capital one. to pay off ours at a much reduced rate I think it was like 8%. WE had a set amount to pay I think we paid it off in a year.
I would call capital one and see if they can give you a consolidated loan to pay off your credit cards and give you a set amount to pay each month. just my opinion. that worked best for us. or you could use the checks to get the very low interest rate to combine them and then be determined to pay it off in a year, usually those are like 1% or even 0% just for a year though. good luck hope this helps. bizi |
Thanks Bizi
I've been wondering about a small loan. I've been paying all the extra money I have to pay off a credit card. Right now I'm paying off the smallest, because its the easiest. And its so small its making it easier to combine, or pay off the other two. I'm getting much closer. I will then figure out where I am on the medical bills and then the credit cards will take first place again. I need the stress of the medical out of my way. They are really bothering me. I'm so close or get so close and then something comes up and just rear ends me again. I am at the point I don't think anything else will come out of no where. The one bill that is here. Has shown up before, so I will either find a proof its paid, or pay it. I do know I owe part of it. So that part, I'll work into my payment plan. Thanks Bizi, I'll be back to update when I get it figured out. I do not like phone calls to work on this stuff, it seems to mess me up more. Donna:hug::grouphug::hug: |

Keep paying of the smallest because that is easiest for you. There are several philosophies about how to pay off credit cards. You found a system that is working. Keep doing that system. Pretty soon, that smallest card will be paid off and you can focus on the two bigger ones. Contact IOSHA (Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration) about rules for keeping workers safe in cold weather. http://www.in.gov/dol/iosha.htm Mari |
Interestingly there are no rules.
I just checked their website. For Cold or hot weather. My husband had already told me this, but I just read so also. We also were looking for break information. They had taken away a break in the morning at a time they could get warm again. THere is no rule or law about giving breaks either. Ugh, there is no way to help. It would take a move of congress. And since they just passed the Right to work law. Its not going to happen. They could care less. Donna:grouphug::hug: |

That is a shame about the "right to work for less" law in your state. (That is what we call that stupid law here.) M |

Yep we call it the same pretty much here. The unions fought hard to keep it from passing. But lost. My son's are in a situation were if they end up going on strike as they have voted to. They may not have a job. Because of this stupid law. I'm hoping the factory doesn't lock them out. Donna:grouphug::hug: |
I just think some creditors are so crazy.
I kept getting this call from a electric machine. I wouldnt take the call. It was from a company trying to collect a debt. Well they got smart and had someone really call. So I talked to the person. Told her I sent a check this week. And when she kept trying to get me to settle the account. Kept telling her that was all I could pay this month. She then said, Now that I owe $215 now when they get the 100 check. We can settle for $175. If you pay it now. I said, I'm sorry I just told you I can't pay any more right now. When can you pay more. Next month. She kept up. I finally said, I have lots of bills, some more even with your creditor. And I'm paying them all. So it will be next month. So she finally asked about the check. And then said, I'll call you back next month. I said, that is fine. Donna:grouphug::hug: |
