Endometrium lining biopsy - CRPS/RSD
Please help! An endometrium lining biopsy is being scheduled for me. I am told this can be painful. Is there anything I should do to prevent the spread of burning neuropathic pain to this new area from the biopsy???
For example I had bruised my ankle ... a few weeks later I got the burning pain at my ankle ... got a lidocaine patch and after a couple weeks of wearing the patch, the spread of burning pain at the ankle did go away, Unfortunately I cannot wear a lido patch on my endometrium lining to prevent the spread of burning pain!! I greatly appreciate any helpful suggestions from others who may have experienced this. |

Hi Lit Love. I am just starting on ketamine oral - tonight in fact - and figure that would be a good one to be taking when the biopsy is done and after. I heard it is painful. I plan to call my PM doc Monday. I am in menopause and have been bleeding recently. They did an ultrasound and found that I have a thickened lining. My female doc wants the biopsy asap. It would be horrible to have burning pain reside in the female areas.

I've had an endometrial biopsy but it was before I had crps. I had oral pain medication before the procedure and my gyn inserted some sort of anesthetic into my uterus before she started the procedure. She then waited a certain amt. of time before she took the biopsy. She explained to me that the procedure may cause cramping which it did. It wasn't that bad. But I have a high pain tolerance.
A friend of mine had the same procedure done by the same gyn and said it was the worst pain she'd ever had. I would ask your MD if there is any other test that could be done to accomplish what the biopsy would. Endometrial biopsies are done for a variety of reasons. I'd check with my PM to make sure that if this biopsy was absolutely necessary, you would receive adequate pain medicine. |
If your OBGYN is not experienced with RSD, then you really need a 2nd opinion at a minimum.
Your hormone levels can be off as a result of the RSD and/or any meds you're on, btw. |
THANKS LIT LOVE
She is not experienced at all with RSD. So where do you find an OBGYN experienced with RSD? |
I will ask my PM doc at USC, LA if he knows an OBGYN experienced in RSD.
