Any luck with vitamins/supplements?

I am new here. My 16 year old daughter has suspected CRPS (from her Pedi, has appt with Neurologist next month). It all started with a knee injury after a fall during a hike 2 years ago. I'm wondering if anyone has used vitamins or supplements to help with the pain? I've read a great deal recently about Benfotiamine (fat soluble form of vitamn B1) being helpful with Neuropathic pain. Does anyone have experience with this or other more natural remedies?

I only know this.
If she gets injured anywhere else, have her take high doses of vit c, to help prevent spreading. (and no ice).
I take vit c everyday, because im clumsy, and off balance. I tend to fall into things often.

Hope someone else can help a little more. :(
Sorry to hear about your daughter possibly having rsd, and i hope its not the case :(

Thanks for your reply. When her pedi finally suggested RSD and I began researching it, it really seems to be what she has. We've been to the docs (orthopedist) repeatedly for swelling and pain, had x-rays, an MRI, etc and no answers. Her case doesn't seem as severe as many here, but does seem to be spreading. When I read about the "shiny skin" I knew we must be on to something. Hoping to find more natural ways to manage, as she is very against taking meds. I can rarely get her to take Advil. I wish we'd known about the not using ice for the past 2 years!

Warm compresses, and baths help me sometimes. I use johnsons baby oatmeal lotion, and Vaseline Conditioning Petroleum Jelly Cocoa Butter***EDIT*** (this vaseline is not as greasy as plain vaseline, and its smells good)***. I alternate them. Helps with some of my skin issues on rsd areas.
I hope more people chime in with some natural help. And you daughter gets relief soon :(

A friend of mine went vegan and she swears by it. I havent changed my diet, although I like to believe I eat fairly healthy already. I take fish oil for my acne and melatonin at night because of horrible insomnia. I never tried other supplements.

She could try this, others have said it has helped.
