Is RSD a form of Neuropathy?
It seems many symptoms are the same, but wondering if it falls under the category of Neuropathy. Are the treatments the same?
|
Google "CRPS vs Neuropathy"
You'll get a lot of hits with quite a bit of good information that explains the similarities and differences. |
Simple answer: PN usually caused by a disease like lupus or diabetes. The symptoms are less painful and physically transparent.
RSD caused by trauma. Pain is worse. Physical abnormalities around affected area. |
In 2010 they changed the definiton of what Neuropathic pain was and at that time they decided RSD/CRPS did not fit the defintion.
Of course they couldn't decide what it was either, don't kow if anythings changed since then |
Ummm ild say that neuropathy is different, as it is usually symptom like caused by another issue that can be treated.. RSD is the issue and they can only treat the pain from RSD..
I was also told by one of the nurses that treats me that RSD is the new four letter word.... Ummm she didnt mean CRPS.. |
