EaglesWings Intro
Hi,
My name is Anna and I'm 37. I'm a SAHM of 2 girls ages 8 (today) and 5 and married for just shy of 9 years. I've just had my 2nd hip surgery- my first was the left hip, now this is the right hip. I had the left done Jan 30th and Oct 22nd was the right. Oh, and my hip surgery is for FAI so they have to debride, resurface the bone as well as my labrums were torn so those were repaired- thankfully all arthroscopically. After my left hip I had all sorts of weird stuff going on. I think it was about a month post op, my feet started swelling, getting extremely cold and turning colors. The surgeon said it was like RSD but didn't think it was RSD. The PT place had a trained PRRT person and that helped a tad but it wasn't a quick fix and he expected that. After several weeks and spiraling downhill fast, I ended up going to a place that has Chiro & Neuro in one building. They were able to decipher further. It turns out I have spinal nerve compression both cervical and lumbar. They haven't determined the exact reason yet (no MRIs on it yet). However, they did spinal decompression (non-invasive) and my discs did come back up to proper size but I am still having issues. Also, my lower extremities esp my right side has early peripherial neuropathy. So, I found this site as I was searching around again. This round I'm on a blood pressure medication (my blood pressure went crazy last time as well as most all my CNS/sympathetic & all). I also have one good leg to stand on too which helps. I hope not to go down the same road and am looking for anythign to help. I have a TENS unit and the place I went to has the REBUILDER which was awesome but I haven't shelled out $1300 to bring it home :/ I've also been playing with some supplements to try to help too. I've been researching and trying to understand this as best as i can- some of my drs are decent but they are limited in their understanding. |

Hello Eagleswings
Welcome to Neuro Talk. I hope you find a physician, that has better knowledge of the condition you have. Try google as well for information. JAMA is a medical research magazine which you can access on the internet and may be able to help with what your doctors are telling you. I do wish you all the best, and I am glad you found this site. ginnie:hug:

Hello Anna!
Welcome to NT!
You've come to a great place for support and understanding. It's unfortunate that pain is the reason which unites us, but it sure is good knowing that we are not alone in this. Just holler if you have any questions or need help finding your way around. Caring! Rae :grouphug: |
