Slow and getting slower

My little 18 month old laptop is crawling slower every day - every hour.
I run AVG every day and it says I'm all clear.
Any thoughts on what's wrong or what I should do?
Thanks

Do you know the specs for it?
Windows version?
Ram/memory amount?
CPU info?
Brand?- some come with a lot of Brand bloat-ware..
Hard drive size? is it nearly full or lots of empty space?

Have you tried a cleaner like Glary utilities-
http://download.cnet.com/Glary-Utili...-10508531.html

or ccleaner-
http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/30...-10315544.html

both are free, I've used both of these for a long time.

Thank you Jo*Mar ..... hmmmmm all I know is it's a Hewlitt Packer (sp?) with Windows 7.. When I bought it I hired a computer repair place to come to my house to take everything from my old laptop and move it to the new. He (the repairman I ask for everytime I call for help) said that I had more memory (? - I hope that's a correct memory) than I would ever use.
When he was here a few months ago he asked if he could clean out some stuff because I had too much garbage ..... he cleaned everything.

I will run the two cleaners you gave. Thank you!!

If you click on the start button and type sys into the search box, it will come up with a list of sugestions.. click on the one that is called 'system information' (should be the top of the list) - that will give you a system summary.

Also do you defragment your drive much?

Huh? Defragment my drive?

Like wren, I'm looking for a cleaner.

Wren 10-30-2012 10:23 AM

(Alffe - what I really need is a cleaner for my house)

I clicked on http://download.cnet.com/Glary-Utili...-10508531.html and was able to complete (I think) the entire cleaning process without getting another tool bar(?) across the top of my screen.
They said they cleaned 9380 junk issues, 984 errors, I was far from the red color - almost in green and that I had good security.
Good luck Alfee

No luck...I still get the same message. :(:(

If you click either of the GLARY links above, there is a little blue "direct link" on the left hand side. If you click that the file will download to your computer.

Install it, run it.

Jomar 10-31-2012 11:48 AM

hmm the links still work for me -
but here is the main sites for both products-
