TauRx - Announcing a New Era in Alzheimer’s

Remember "rember"? Data released in 2008 from Phase II trials involving 321 patients with mild and moderate Alzheimer’s disease revealed a 80% - 90% reduction in the rate of disease progression over two years in mild-moderate Alzheimer’s patients.

Well, the improved second generation rember is called LMTX and this is about to go into Phase 3 clinical trials!

Saw this exciting news:

Feedback from Caregiver of Alzheimer Patient in TauRx Phase 2 rember Clinical Trial

Found this feedback while googling TauRx today where the caregiver,"Sudha", of an 88-year-old Alzheimer Phase 2 clinical trial participant of rember (now called LMTX) gave an account of her Mom's progress after getting onto the rember Phase 2 trial in 2006.

See under comments of this link:

http://alzheimers.about.com/b/2012/1...l-dementia.htm

Here's an excerpt from caregiver "Sudha" about her Mom's progress:
".....As a result of it (ie, being on rember), her quality of life has increased tremendously. Where prior to the drug she was depressed, listless, uninterested in things she used to enjoy, like reading, cooking, now she takes an active interest in the family, gardens, she can even manage reading books on a kindle. She basically lives a fairly normal and independent life......Her quality of life is so much richer as a result of this drug and for that we are forever grateful."

"..... there are no side effects – at least not for my mother. At the end of the day what we want for the people we loved who are faced with this dreaded disease, is to live a full life with dignity. "

Patients and caregivers can read more about the coming LMTX Phase 3 trial at their website:

I am hoping that after the AD trial gets off the ground, maybe the Parkinsons clinical trial for LMTX will start. I want to enrol my Mom and hope that LMTX will help her.
