Questions for those who have/had pain pump
Try to make it short: Had pain pump that the battery died after a year and a half. Had a new one put in (same catheter). A few years later had that pump removed & not replaced, however the left they catheter in and tied it off. Have been having LOTS of pain in lower back where it exits, and around the side where I assume the catheter is tied off. LOTS OF PAIN...
Anyone out there have an issue with this? When they put the pump in the first time had a sever "electric" pain shooting down my right buttock and leg. Obviously irritated nerves when they put it in. Ironically it was put in for RSD in the arm and hand, nothing to do with the back or legs. Also diagnosed a few years ago with Hydrocephalus and had surgery for that. Still have chronic headaches & am now wondering if some of them are actually due to the catheter? Maybe it's cracked, leaking.... maybe it's irritating something.... Thanks in advance for any information you might have! |
Hello Usqua!
Welcome to the forum!
I'm sorry you are having all this pain ...... Have you gone to a doctor about it yet? This sounds pretty serious and I'd hate for you to be suffering all this time without some possible explanations from the medical 'pros'. We've got a few pumpsters here, yet it's been awhile since they've postsed. Hopefully this will catch their eye. You're sure to get feedback here, as we are a caring bunch. It sounds like you've been thru a heck of a lot. Hang in there, friends are on the way! Rae :grouphug: |
I need to go to Jefferson City!!
Bob in Jeffmo was our most active pumpster, and he has been away a good while. I sure do echo the sage wisdom of Rae suggesting a visit with the Doc person, because pain is an indication of something awry, not just a reminder of times gone by.
To the Doc! Time to go! Caring tremendously, Mark56:hug::grouphug: |
