deppression medication- sideaffects

Iam so tired of the side effects from my deppression meds. Effexor. I can get an erection with my wife, but cannot cum. Of course my wife likes it, but it is driving me crazy. I can cum by myself, but it is very hard. I have not talk to my dr. yet about this. Do I give up and be deppresed even worse all the time? or just live with it? Anyone else have these issues.

Depression meds are notorious for sexual side effects, including the inability to reach orgasm as you mention. I took Paxil (another SSRI medication) a few years ago with the same side effect.

Are you seeing a psychiatrist that is prescribing the Effexor or a GP? A GP may just Rx the meds without exploring other options. In some people depression can be treated through talk therapy such as CBT, and they may be able to reduce and/or wean you off the meds. In any case you should discuss with the doctor who is prescribing the medication.

Meantime communication with your wife is critical. If you can’t climax through intercourse perhaps oral or manual stimulation will work.
