Syringomyelia

Hi, I was diagnosed with SM one year ago. Does anyone know if this condition is formally recognised as a disability?

Hello Paul

Welcome to Neuro Talk. I had to look this up. There evidently are two forms of this disorder. One is chiari malformation. There is for sure a forum to address that issue. On the top of this page is a search bar, just type in chiari, or see what comes up for syringomyelia. I would imagin this would indeed qualify for SSD or medicare etc. Get a good representative to help you through that process. It is worth the effort. I am sorry this happened to you. NT can be here for support, no matter what happens. You are not alone. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie:hug:
