AZO AKA pyridium
 

I saw ad in magazine for AZO for urinary tract infections. I don't have UTI. What I want to know if this drug would be helpful for PN pain.

AZO is available over the counter.

I am already on gabapentin and Tramadol. Any drug interactions with these?

The Azo doesn't do much for a UTI. Numbs a teeny bit.

The prescription version does work. I used to get a lot of UTI's. I do anything not to use meds so I love taking D mannose and Cranberry supplements twice a day to prevent UTI's. Of course lots of water and very few simple carbs/sugar.

Uribel works when you have to have pain relief when you have a UTI.

Pyridium is for symptomatic relief of burning pain on urination.

Why are you asking? It does not have other therapeutic indications except for that.

Typically it is only for use for brief periods of time along with an antibiotic for urinary tract infections.

It can be very messy and will stain clothing and sometimes contact lenses.

I can't see using this for any other reason.

I asked because the mag ad said something about pain. Maybe I am grasping at straws, but I am looking for something for PN pain relief.
