numbness still

Had my surgery on September 25, 2012 and my shoulder front where incisions are to me is like numb. I can feel when I wash the area but it's more like pressure than what I would call true feeling anyone out there having had surgery able to tell me how long this will be?

I had surgery at the end of July & the incision area is far more sensitive now than it was at 8 weeks, but it was pretty numb until then. You described the sensation very well! It's still less sensitive than the surrounding skin; it's most obvious if I'm scratching and run over it. I'm still seeing improvements in sensation, so I can't tell you if/when it gets back to 100% normal.

UNfortunately there is no answer to this one. It can resolve over months + or you may experience sensation alteration permanently. Sorry cannt be more helpful but to put into perspective my original bilateral surgery was 22 years ago and still numb/sensation alteration.. Something that you will adjust to.
