hi - new here

My name is Erin, wanted to say hi and introduce myself

I have PTSD due to a murder/suicide of my mum and stepdad (4 years ago)
I also have fibro - have suffered for YEARS till I was FINALLY diagnosed this fall
I also am a celiac with severe egg allergies and lots of sensitivities to chemicals (dont know that I would call them a severe allergy though like some have)

Not sure what to do. Lately I am very angry, and very frustrated.

My fibro is flaring, and so is my PTSD :( I am kinda having a hard time dealing with both, and with zero (and I mean ZERO) support from my hubs I am struggling to do everything, and I dont know where to turn.

On a more cheerful note

I have 4 horses, 2 goats, 2 dogs, 3 birds, 4 cats, 8 chickens and a hedgehog (I hope I remembered everybody) My animals are the ONLY reason I get out of bed in the AM
I am also going back to school for a more gentle job - I used to be a nurse :D I adore knitting and I love to cook and bake - while this sounds so domestic I am the worst housewife ever :D ( I really mean it :D )

Hi Erin!

I'm new here too, so sorry to hear about your conditions and trauma that you've been through, and still going through.

Anger management helped me, it's always tough opening up in front of strangers, even if it's in a group, or the doctors themselves, once you get over that hump the process is beneficial.

One doctor diagnosed me with PTSD, due to the mental trauma becoming disabled on my dominant arm from a poorly administered vaccine during a physical for a job, to boot my injury is chronic and incurable, so yeah...that can make a person experience the whole "gamut" of emotions, anger, fear, depressed, hopeless, not whole, on and on. It can take awhile to adjust to "life altering" situations.

The fact that you named your pets/livestock the way you did shows what a good person you are, and who doesn't love baking or eating...lol I love the eating part lol, and that as soon as you "address" your issues, the more "free" and happier you will be, and "empowered" by the tools you are given by professionals who can tell you in simple terms how to help yourself. Psychiatrists are not created equal, but they are also beneficial to sufferers to break through the fog of mental anguish.

If it was easy, then it wouldn't be reality, so Erin, you have to put in the time and do whatever it takes to get and feel better and extinguish your demons so to speak, or at least learn how to live with them. Get the best care in your area to help you.

You can do this! You came here and posted, that also tells me your in the fight!

Your Fibro can knock ya down a few pegs so to speak, fight back, you need your strength both mentally and physically.

Remember, chronic pain = anger, and especially FRUSTRATION, par for the course.

Having family support is also key, but since your hubby isn't aboard 100% and you have Fibro? Well, then you need to take care of "YOU".

Wishing you a safe and less painful and happy holiday, take care of yourself.

:)
