possible csf leak

Hi. My mother had a craniotomy in Aug '11 and a cranioplasty in Feb '12 as a result of a TIA. In July, her scar opened up and started leaking a strange fluid right above her ear. Her neurosurgeon was away when this happened and by the time he saw her, she had miraculously healed on:confused: her own, being on antibiotics. An associate of his suspected a csf leak and an mri was done. The associate was sure it was csf, but my mother's neurosurgeon wasn't convinced, especially since she had no other symptoms so nothing was done. In October, the same thing happened again. Again, just leaking, no other symptoms. The surgeons suspected a wound issue so she was seen by a plastic surgeon. With an xray,he found a screw from her previous surgeries and the idea was that the screw was irritating the scar. The screw was removed and the plastic surgeon rotated skin to cover the open wound and stitched her up. Now she's leaking through the incision again!!! The plastic surgeon says this is due to the previous irritation and just needs to heal. He put her on antibiotics again. Again, the only symptom is the leakage. I'm very concerned, hoping that this isn't csf, but expecting the worst. Can you give me any input???
