Does anyone experience PCS symptoms but without a 'headache'?
Hi all,
I appear to be somewhat different to the majority of PCS sufferers in that I do not develop headaches (I guess I should consider myself lucky in this respect). Instead I get a 'tingling' feeling near the impact site, especially upon concentrating, among other usual symptoms. Does anyone else experience PCS symptoms but without a headache? I wonder why this might be? I attribute the tingling feeling in my head to neural axons 'shorting out' as a result of diffuse axonal injury. If I avoid exertion I find the tingling feeling subsides after 24 hours after which point I am able to concentrate much easier. Can anyone provide further insight to this? Thanks as always |
You are lucky not to have the headaches hopefully that means a quick recovery .....:)

I rarely get headaches and I've had PCS for 8.5 months now. I just feel foggy and tired. I get headaches sometimes but no more often than my life pre PCS. My ears ring if I've done too much.
It's hard to describe how I feel to others. It's like having a fever or being hungover 24/7 Best of Luck to you......... |
I have headaches daily but not always constant. I have one now, feels like someone is squeezing my head and the roof of my mouth feels weird. I get that tingling, too.

The headache for me has become a dull, constant presence with which I have learned to live; rarely do I take any meds to relieve it.
It will kick-up on occasion, e.g. with falling barometric pressure preceding a major weather change. I live at sea level, so I suppose that is to be expected. |
I did not develop headaches with my PCS, I had the initial pressure pain which was quite intense following the injury for a few weeks but after it went away I never developped any headaches.
I will be at the one year mark in another week. |
hi,
during the first 10 weeks after my concussion i had almost no headaches (i had slight "normal" headaches sometimes but i used to have even before my concussion happened). I had that tingling too, but it didnīt really bother me that much. Then i had sex (but it wasnīt really strenuous to me i wasnīt doing much) last saturday and a hot bath right after it and i got so massive headache that i ended up in a hospital. The worst pain one could imagine. The headache was on the right side of the head, also my right ear hurt and my right teeth hurt, both upper and bottom. So it was a triple headache. Also my eyes hurt (orbitas). Means for me: - no sex, - no hot baths. The limitations are just getting a bit too much. Be happy u ainīt got no headaches. |
I've found I can't take hot baths either.
Haven't tried sex, though. |
You are lucky with no headaches. I have had them since very early on. They were intense for almost 2 months straight. I still get them daily but about 50 % of the time I do not need anything for them.
