aneurysm

Hello,
I'm new to the site but would like to ask if I should worry about a 3mm aneurysm my neurologist found in my right communicating artery? I have an appointment with a neurosurgeon next month. Mostly everything I've read says Its not big enough to do anything with. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated, it is starting to worry me.

Hi Trixxiegurl

I have to say that any aneurysm is a cause for concern because even the smallest one can have catastrophic consequences.

Please make sure that your doctors monitor this carefully for any signs of growth or change. The reality is, that many of us live with these our entire lives and don't even know that we have them. For others, the outcome is disastrous so be aware, keep monitoring it and make sure that you get it, before it gets you.

By that, I mean that if there is any growth, there are excellent treatment options available to you, and incredibly skilled surgeons and radiologists who really know their stuff.

Good luck, and keep us posted as to your progress.

Cheers

Lyn
