Help! I've lost my focus.

Over the past two weeks I have let a lot of negative thoughts creep into my mind and has resulted in the feeling of being lost. I'm working on my visualization again and trying to get back on track. Any suggestions, tips, tricks etc on how to remain in line with LOA. It's funny that I'm writing this because in the past when I have been centered I've read these types of posts and wondered how that person managed to get so off-centered.

Avery,
welcome to NeuroTalk tho I am so sorry that you have been experiencing the negativity that has made you feel so off centered.

I guess we all lose focus one way or another at times, but I know you are speaking of something that is seriously affecting your wellbeing and so I hope you will also post in some of the forums that we have here where our members will be able to share their experience and offer you support as you go through this

Hi Avery

I don't think it's possible to remain in line all the time. People who say they can are either lying or hiding from life. The only way to remain in line ALL the time is when it's over and you're six feet under - that ain't livin'. :p

Negative thoughts and feelings are nasty, but I don't think it's wise to ignore them or push them aside. They could be telling you something important. Instead, I try to explore those thoughts to see if I can figure out the source. If not, I spend that time praying/meditating for understanding and strength to endure.

We'd be off balance if we never experienced the negatives in life. If you pay attention and don't swing too low, it will give you the strength and energy to fully appreciate and participate in the positives.

I hope you're feeling better soon. :)

Yooo hooo - Tootles the Train, are you still out there playing in the field of pretty flowers? :p Figured I'd join you. :D

We have strong seasons here - cold winters, hot summers. When I've walked a long way home on a cold day, it felt so good to walk into a warm building along the way to warm my hands. On hot days, it felt good to walk into an air-conditioned building along the way to cool off.

It gives your body an overall sense of relief. It gives you a chance to compose yourself and regain some strength so you can keep on your journey.

So I think we NEED those ups and downs in life.

If we stayed in a completely neutral climate, we'd be robbed of the pleasure of feeling that overall sense of relief that keeps us strong and balanced. We'd lose our focus because we'd be only be loitering in the building, not living life.

You can't follow the path home if you're afraid to step out into the weather once in a while. It's not much of a journey, is it? If you don't pay attention to the weather outside, your neutral status in the building isn't always guaranteed either. Loitering in buildings shouldn't be a goal in life. :p

Just some ramblin' thoughts :o

Hi there avery. I'm not a psychiatrist or a doctor, just letting you know that straight away, ok?

I go around and around with this myself. I'll be sailing along just fine for a while, taking care of business, having a great old time then all of a sudden, I'm On the Floor, Down for the count, just Horrible. Can't function, don't Want to function, don't want to rest or sleep or eat, just at such odds with myself I could jump out the window. But you know what? It happens to everyone. Some worse than others. Just think of it as no big deal, it will pass. Do whatever you need to to make yourself feel better. I don't mean go out and commit a crime, just try to Please yourself. Whatever that may be. I find a hot fudge sundae, a couple old favorite movies and a nice nap helps me. I may do that for a few days in a row too depending how tired I was. Usually all it means it that you need a break from your routine, a change of scenery or mindset. Go to the Y and swim, take a walk, go buy a puppy. Do Something that Pleases you and take a nap. :winky:
