Insomnia!!

Seems I have a case of insomnia. I sleep in little snipets during the night. And when I wake up it's nearly impossible to get back to sleep. I don't seem overly sleepy during the day but if I do feel like I can nap I do. I figure any sleep - regardless of the time of day - is good. It's a good thing I don't have to be anywhere or do anything on a schedule. I'm wondering if this is caused by MS. Anyone else have this issue?

I definitely do!! I sleep in 1-2 hour increments all night. I'm woke up either feeling like I need to use the bathroom, muscle spasms or nothing. I used to take sleeping pills but they weren't working so I stopped. I start to feel crazy after awhile!! Have you tried melatonin? It works for some people really well :) just not me...

You know I do the same thing Kelly. I wake up at least every 3 to 4 hrs. I keep the Tv on all night on mute. So when I wake up I get interested in what's on. I make sure it's something I want to stay awake for...and...boom, I'm asleep.:p:D

The secret is, I guess, Don't try..lol

Yes, same here; yet when I add up the cat naps taken during the night, I still get around 4 or 5 hours and that's enough for me.

It seems that everyone has an ideal amount of sleep requirement and if that is getting short changed somehow, naps during the day or even using herbs/meds to get things back on track might be a good idea.

Some people find that basic breathing meditation is helpful with sleep problems. I meditate for 3-5 hours/day and while it doesn't increase the amount of sleep I get, the sitting still while meditating seems to allow the body and mind to get the rest it needs.

With love, Erika
