(interesting about the IgA deficiency.. how did they diagnose or find that? They have wondered if I had that, but didn't check it till after I was on IVIG.. I have never mounted antibodies/titers to vaccines or illnesses that I have had.. they would check and it would be negative, and we would have to re vaccinate me etc.. my father has the same issue.. )
You wrote that in Magister's thread but it was getting long so I'm posting it here.

I had already answered that question for you but maybe it got lost in a thread.

They do a blood test of all your immunoglobulins (i.e., IgA, IgE, IgG, etc.) to see what your levels are. You had said that you might've seen that on a screen in the hospital and that you thought it looked flagged as abnormal. To which I said, "GET YOUR RECORDS!" ;)

It's a relatively expensive test, so you might want to get your records first, which should be free.

If you want more of a "background check" of your immunology, you should go see an immunologist!

Thanks Annie! I did get my records (there were over 200 pages of them - ahh)... and I never found that panel... I remember them telling me they checked it and I remember seeing it abnormal... (everything was such a blur back then, I was so sick)
I wasn't specifically sifting through my records to look at that.. so I need to go back again and look specifically for it.. with so many pages.. things can slip my mind easily!!!

They did just an IgA, but it was like 1 week after IVIG a few months back, and it was normal.. I was also curious if other people who have been diagnosed with IgA deficiency had any "symptoms"... or or if they found it incidently.. I was curious what made them test her for that in the first place..

They mentioned seeing an immunologist, however as of now, it doesn't seem like a priority, and to be honest I am soooo sick of seeing dr's.. the thought of seeing more is just nauseating! though I know I probably should.. I'll go back through those records with a fine tooth comb again! :) Thanks!!
