Worse after IVIG

Does anyone find that the day after an IVIG treatment they'll feel worse than they did before it, in terms of symptoms? I find I get a little weak and very stiff the next day. Its starting to make me question whether its doing more harm than good, or whether its just a reaction to the medicine and I need to give it a few days to start working.

I have had six IVIG treatments over the first year of my journey and did not have any reaction at all. The only thing that it helped was slightly reducing the spasms of SPS no other improvements.

Sorry you are having such a hard time. It could possibly be the meds that you're taking but how would the medical community figure that one out when they have such trouble diagnosing the illnesses in the first place.

Good luck.

I have had a lot of IVIG treatments, on a few occasions I have felt bad the next day but that is rare. Sorta flu like symptoms. Be sure to drink lots of water the day before and day of the treatment. You may want to discuss this with your neuro. He may change brands or rate.

Sometimes I do feel more run down and a little weaker that first day or so afterwards.. and then on day 3-4 it's like a miracle, everything gets better!
