Experimental Ointment Drug - Xen402
 

Always looking for some miracle breakthrough. Has anyone heard of Xen402 or have enough knowledge to interpret if this may help reduce the pain?

Xenon’s XEN402 Ointment Significantly Relieves Pain in Patients with Post Herpetic Neuralgia

Vancouver, Canada (May 2, 2011) – Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Xenon) announced today that its novel ointment XEN402 demonstrated significant and clinically meaningful reductions in pain in patients with Post Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN).

The Nav1.7 sodium channels are a target for pain.

However, it will be some years before this reaches the public.
Phase II trials move on to Phase III and then the FDA evaluates the substance and that is another delay.
