Neuro Visit

(Neuro) visit : bad and good news ...
good news is (Neuro) test went well ...
first month of meds on half dose of Avonex PS - then full dose
then 2nd month on the Avonex PEN :holysheep: very excited! and if it all goes well all be on it always. need to practice with the nurse.

bad news:
ms bladder problems
lower back spamas
shocks in neck.
eye problems the (nystagmus) from the first attack never fully recovered

(Neuro) is taking test of all sorts waiting on results :Good-Luck:

possible this could a flare up and lesions in new spots.

need to do another M.R.I in june

I'm a strong-willed, indpendent girl, that has 'Multiple Sclerosis" but I don't need anyone saving me. I can take care of myself and I don't take any crap from anyone.

Please explain your 'shocks in neck'??

NurseNancy 12-17-2012 02:02 PM

you sound like you're a fighter. good for you.
there may be meds available to help with some of your other sx's, like bladder issues.

i've got a neurogenic bladder from spinal lesions and take vesicare. it's done wonders for me.

your dr sounds like he's very invested in your care and doing the right things. it may take a little time to get the answers from tests but it will be worth it.

keep us posted.

To your good news I say HOORAY! To your bad news I say, "The good news is you have MS, so those symptoms might disappear tomorrow."

Hi there I too have a Neogenic Bladder & was put on VesaCare for bladder spasm's which has helped in some way - I also get real bad pain in my left kidney side & still waiting on a scan or too see a doctor to hopefully find out the cause. I have a SupraPubic Catheter inserted & it's helping but when the bladder drains thats when I get a sharp pinch inside my Bladder from the tip of the catheter. Any Information will help alot.

Welcome to NeuroTalk and the MS Forum Shane. Ask your Doc if that pinch is normal. May have to be adjusted?

Hi SallyC,
According to the urogist it's normal which I say is crap, I have been sent a new catheter from USA to try & hopefully help me. I will be the first KIWI to try it. I get my next change in 3 weeks & hopefully it will be for the good. I will let everyone know what happens.

Thanks again & Yes I'm going to enjoy this site.

Shane
