Flu Shots & PCS
Is a flu shot recommended with TBI/PCS?Any feedback would be appreciated:wink:
|
I got a flu shot not too long ago with no noticeable side effects.
I'm pretty sure you will be fine, too. |
I had flu last year so got one this year just to be on the safe side. Get it done on the side you don't write with.

Hi mia
Unless you doc says not to get the flu shot for some reason, I would go ahead and do it. The flu is no fun. I had it a number of years ago and was sick for about 5 weeks. Rather take that shot any old day, than to go through that again! ginnie

I avoid all vaccines, They use an aluminum compound as an adjuvant to aggravate the immune system. Aluminum is not good from a weak brain much less any brain. My supplement regimen has kept me free of colds and flu for at least 15 years. If I get a cold, it lasts a few days max of sinus congestion. I also use a Chloraseptic type of spray on my throat before going to bed and a saline nose spray to help clear my sinuses.
A study done some time ago showed an increase in Alzheimer's like symptoms for seniors who have had a history of repeated flu shots. Maybe the skin prick flu shot or nasal spray flu vaccine has less of the aluminum. Not for me. |
I as well do not get annual flu shots/vaccine, and I never have.
Similarly to what Mark detailed above, I am simply 'suspect' of the 'advantages' vs. the potential 'disadvantages' ... including getting whatever strain of flu that the vaccine was not. Too many whom I know each year get 'the flu' anyway, despite having had the vaccine. I try to keep my immune system strong ... I am conscientiously a frequent handwasher ... I never open a public door with my hands ... nor touch elevator buttons directly ... and I use a waterless handcleaner frequently when out in public. If my doctor's waiting room is perhaps crowded with obviously ill folks w/respiratory distresses, sinus congestions, sneezes, congested coughs ... I let the receptionist know that I will be waiting outdoors. |
On flu shots
I do have a compromised immune system and on suppliments. Only a doctor, or maybe an intergrated doctor can tell you for sure about what is in that injection.
My little adventure with the flu however was not something I ever forgot. I do not have PCS, so that may make a difference in your choice. The flu is bad, and can kill an older person. That is why I take the shot. ginnie |
No Preservative Vaccines
I chased down a no preservative (no mercury) for last 2days and finally had to go to a drug store 45min away to get it. All stores were out of all vaccines and the no preservatives where the first one to go....
I received 1 of 3 left at location. My daughter had got one as well  |
Side effect?
Ok so I got a non preservative flu shot 2weeks ago and all sudden the left side of nose will not stop running! Is this a common cold?Allergies?Side effect from flu shot?
It started in a sneeze attack then running none stop? Any feedback is appreciated? |
