Leg wouldn't move on it's own :(
The day before yesterday I didn't want to get up because I wasn't feeling great, when I finally did get up I walked to the shower, turned it on and then realized my foot didn't want to move. The only way I could get it to move was by pulling up on my pelvis. I could tell it was asleep, but not like regularly. In the past, my foot would fall asleep, move the joint, blood comes back and there is that horrible feeling for a little while, and then all is done. This time I didn't have that blood coming back feeling. But I couldn't let my husband touch it either, I could tell that would hurt it. He was able to get something under my foot just enough to help me move it, I kind of hopped to the toilet and sat down and eventually it came back. This all happened in about 2-3 minutes, but it kind of freaked me out.
There has been one other time my leg fell asleep since my neuropathy has started. Same leg, and when that happened I was lying on my bed, it hurt a lot while coming back to life. What in the world could be going on? My neuropathy is small fiber, I am not diabetic, this was caused by either a burn or epidural. I thankfully don't drive a ton, but what happens if I was either driving or out in public and something like that happened? I'm currently taking 600mg of oxcarbazapine, after having taken Gabapentin for the last 6 months and it not working effectively. I thought this was working, I've had to ramp up the meds by 150mg a week. I've been sick with a cold, so I'm not sure if my yucky feelings are the endings of the cold or my meds. My stomach has been hurting a lot. Doc has me starting zoloft thinking it will help. I took it for a couple weeks, my stomach actually did feel a little better, stopped it to make sure that was helping, and just restarted it again the other day, so I'll know in a week or two if it actually is what's helping. I really need a signature, it'll help me keep track of my stupid meds! |
Same issue
I had the same thing occur but only once. Stood up from my favorite recliner and left foot would not move. I'm telling it to move and nothing... I picked it up and move it manually and after a mintue or so it finally started functioning normally again.
I take 3600mg of Gabapentin and 30mg of cymbalta daily, with 5000 IU of B-12 orally. I still have burning, mostly at night and general feet pain, sometimes excruciating and other times just annoying. Still trying to get better...... DOC |
[I got that feeling a few times I couldnt get it to move ---once trying to get up in the middle of the night to go to bathroom ---then follow up with what I call painful zingers-- which last alot longer. I chalked it up to nevre being pressed somehow by the way I was laying. Not 100% sure when it happens its very freaky. I have sfn too my cause it from thyroid which was found later, I also have cancer and neck fusion. My leg symtoms are always from sfn.
