Muscle Spasms in Face?
 

Does anyone else with TBI/PCS get muscle spasms in Jaw line area?My massage therapist that does my myofascial is gone for a couple weeks and now I am left to ice muscle spasms in Jaw area....If anyone else has these muscle spasms in face,throat area,neck,or chest please let me know what you do to keep them away.

I take gabapentin (Neurontin) to help me do less jaw clenching. Some SSRI's cause the muscle tension. I take a high dose of an SSRI.

I have added about 5 pounds to my upper body and went from a 36-38 chest to a 42+ chest due to the muscle mass I put on from all the muscle tension. It is sometimes called postural rigidity. It has left my shoulders with a limited flexibility.

I know what it is like to be without a myofacial therapist. I just can't afford mine anymore.

Dear Mia,
It sounds as if your spasms are quite severe. Yes I suffer from facial spasms. Some doctor said mine were stress and to ride them out. If yours are not to do with things that Mark has suggested then consider them as a possible stress release?
