Help!! PCS worse after being on Cruise
I have been suffering with post concussion syndrome since August 2012. I hit my head on my closet door at school. I stood up on a chair to get something off the top shelf, forgetting that the metal door frame was lower. I went straight up at it with full force. I immediately sat down and was in pain. I taught all day. I just sat down most of the time since I was a little dizzy. I figured I would be ok, I suffered several concussions when I was younger. Days went by and my headaches were getting worse and I kept feeling like I was going to get sick. I never took a day off work. I went to the dr about a week later and he ran all kinds of test. All test came back normal. He sent me to a Neru Surgeon. He said concussions are the worse cause there is no magic pill to fix them. He said it was even worse for me cause I was a migraine sufferer. He said I was already wired differently because I suffered from Migraines and now I really messed myself up. He said there was nothing he could do for me, he did give me credit for going to school everyday . He said if any symptoms don't go away after a year, then they are permanent. Not what I wanted to hear.
I had constant headaches, noise and light bothered me. If I read or focus to long my head starts to hurt really bad. Not good when you are a teacher. My sleeping schedule is all messed up and I have been very irritable and depressed. I was already taking Topamax and Zoloft before I hit my head, so the Dr just increased dose. I just came back from a 7 day cruise. And I feel like its week one of my concussion. I'm sleeping non stop, my head feels like its in a fog, my headaches are worse, I'm very crabby and I feel like I am going to be sick. ****Does anyone know if the motion on the cruise messed with my concussion? Any insight or suggestions are welcome. It's been a long 5 months and I don't know what to do or where to go for help. Tracy |
