New but not New

I was DX with Schizophrenia way back when, but now am shoing signs of dimentia. My Husband and I are both noticing this. We have went through a lot of major changes in the last few years including loss of family moving and other major issues. Also there is Meds to take into account, but things continue to get worse not better it is seeming... as we are getting more settled and back to a little bit of a scheduel in life.

My father dided from Diffuse White rain Matter, a very rare disease that looks almost like Alzhimers, so this is of cours the concern as it is a Hereditaty Disease.

We have discussed it with the Dr. but He just said we would keep an eye on things...

So I've come here I guess to have another support system...

Hugs for you Angel

So wonderful you recognize the need for reaching out and this place is here as a haven of solace. My Dad has Alzheimers to the point I lost him to the separation of non-recognition years ago. His body lives, but he no longer knows me, any family member, my brother, his family, or our mother, his wife.

His case is hard since the body continued nevertheless healthy so the perceptual notion of robbery of my father's spirit has seemed the apt analogy.

For you, your hubby, and family, I pray you will be ever surrounded in support, peace, joy, and love while things take their course.

Hugs as deep as mountains,

My grandfather has dementia not full but maybe almost half and i try my best to help him remember important things. YOu might want to try and practice memory tests everyday to strengthen your memory. I believe the doctor told us to do that. Best wishes my friend
