NEED SOME HELP! Second Impact??? Am i turning into a hypochondriac?

I am really looking for some help here as I am freaking out!
Before I get into it, I really appreciate everyone sharing their story here. In the past few months, I have found comfort in knowing that PCS is somewhat normal.
On September 3 rd 2012, I suffered a concussion Wakeboarding. I am (or was)a 35 year old healthy extremely active male. I am sure that I had several concussions before ( football, fights, etc.) but I had never noticed any symptoms. For 2 months after the concussion, I experienced all the normal symptoms:
• Nausea
• Brain fog
• Vertigo
• Extreme fatigue
• Confusion and irritability
• Lack of patience
• Pressure between the eyes
• Eye floaters(had them before but noticed a lot more in my left eye)

I tried to "power" through it all by running and surfing but this obviously made it worse! . After getting a CT scan and blood work ,( which all came out clean) I was ordered by the doc to chill, no alcohol, and lots of rest. I have two kids ages 2 and 4 and I own my own Real Estate company so that was easier said than done.

Day 45 it was like the lights came back on. I felt great. I was back to normal 100%. I was surfing, running, working out and drinking socially like normal.
Day 90 went surfing on a big day, took a pretty big spill and it was like I got knocked back into all my symptoms. I was very frustrated but felt like I knew how to beat it.

Today, 120 days out form original concussion and 1 month out from “second impact”, I am freaking out.. I have been trolling these websites with similar symptoms and I have "self diagnosed" myself with everything from a brain eating amoeba , leukemia , MS and everything else.

I have some new symptoms:
• Whole body itch or skin crawling (feel like pins pricking me all over)
• Hands feel weak (but they really aren’t)
• Extreme anxiety
• Depression

Went back to the ER had another CT scan done. Doc says just have to deal with it. I asked about other symptoms and they dismissed all as this was stereotypical of PCS. I asked about the MS and Dr. said that it would be way to much of a coincidence.

My question: Is it normal to have so much anxiety and *edit* itch?

I continue to think worst case scenario such as MS or something incurable.

Anyone else have a body itch? It’s the Body itch that is freaking me out the most. NOt sure if this is related or not, but I started getting the itch after I took Xanax but not until 6 days after I took one pill did I get an itch. . I took one Xanax, did not like the way it made me feel, then about 6 days later got this itch. Because I was so wigged out about the itch I took another Xanax that following Thursday and Friday. (itch seemed to be gone, or I just ddint notice it during those days) but Sunday night the itch came back way worse.

Today is Monday and no Xanax since Friday and itch is stronger than ever. Could the itch be symptom or a side effect of Xanax and or caused by my own anxiety.

Your itch could be caused by a nerve inflammation in your neck or back. If icing your neck and more likely your upper neck resolves the itch, it is related to inflammation in your neck. The upper neck is often injured during a concussion.

If not, try some Benadryl. If it resolves the itch, it is an allergy type of itch.

Tell us about your symptoms and what you are doing to try to help your brain recover.

There are lots of helpful people here.

It will be easier if you try to keep you questions in one thread rather than creating multiple threads.

My best to you.

I also had a lot of itching and I had to take prednisone for inflammation and after I would take benadryl whenever I would have itch episodes.

Hope for the best

Mark,

Thanks for your post.

My Main symptoms at the present time is the Vertigo, itching and numb / tingling feet.

Like i said earlier, i am freaked out that i might have MS since my fatigue does not get better and i seem to be having new sypmtoms such as numbness and tingling that wont go away? Is this just anxiety or is it a valid concern?

I have an MRI scheduled for this Thursday and i have begun to start meditating.

Funny. Today i had a great day. Light excercise and an easy day at work. Anxiety is almost non existant and i dont feel any of the numbness and or tingling.

I think i just need to remember to breath!
