Hi new here but not new to this TOS

I was diagnosed with tos due to cervical ribs 11 years ago i had my left cervical rib and 1st rib removed. It didnt go well at all and i ended up with a brachil plexus injury due to medical negligance, my arm has never been the same since i do have use of it now after years of physio and pig headedness. The nerve damage is a challenge but i have had to get on with it, for the last 6 months ive been waking up 4/5 times a night with pins and needles or cramp in both my hands. I will never get used to this so i went to gp got put back on all the nasty meds and started physio it turns out that my cervical rib that was removed is back and the one on the right has grown im in the middle of finding a surgeon (in london). Is there a (bupa) surgeon that anyone would suggest.Is surgery the only treatment and Are there any questions i need to ask when considering having the op again.

The best I can suggest is seek out the highest skilled surgeon you can, as this new one might have to fix some of the problems from the first surgery.

This is not a time for beginners to practice on you.

I'm not sure if its good or bad news the dr done mri emg and X-ray last week he says my biggest problem is herniated cervical discs followed by carpel tunnel then tos (that i already knew about).Hes sending me to a spinal surgeon who I see Wednesday so glad I went to see him he's finally sorting everything out.I knew all these sensations and pains wasn't just the brachial plexus injury the dr doesn't think my neck problem is because of the op to remove the cervical ribs going wrong. If after having my neck and hand sorted I still have these problems he said he will look at surgery for the tos being as I have already had a cervical rib and 1st rib removed what other surgery is there .

Sounds like you have an excellent diagnostic doctor! Good luck with the discs and carpal tunnel. Carpal tunnel surgery is a breeze and painless to recover from - I was rock climbing within a couple of weeks...not that I recommend that, I was kind of young and stupid..but I was able to!! - are they going to be doing surgery on your discs? I have never had that problem, but I know my mother has had to have back surgery for herniated discs/bulging and it was a long recovery for her. They didn't catch her problems in time, so she has permanent damage and limitations. Hopefully you're getting it all handled in a timely manner and will be back to as normal as possible soon.
