FMS and Birth Control Pills

I'm wondering if there is a correlation between my fibromyalgia and my birth control pills. I've noticed that my symptoms are the absolute worst the week before and during the first few days of my period. I've read on other websites that some people notice the same thing but that being on birth control helps. Other people say that getting off of the pill is the answer.

Does anyone else notice something similar? I'm wondering if changing to another pill or getting off of it completely would make any kind of difference.

I can't particularly give much insight into this, apart from the fact that 5 months ago my naturopath that I was seeing recommended strongly that I go OFF the pill and seemed to think that it causes a high statistic of women to get some kind of long lasting fatigue effects. And that it messed around my hormones too much and that was related to my CFS and fibro.
To be honest,I'm not sure still. I'm still the same really and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually want to go back on it!!!

if you are on the 21 on 7 off, doesn't you "pain" time correlate with the off time? if so, perhaps you need a good gyn/hormone work up?

I have various increased symptoms before and during my period, but being on hormonal contraception makes them worse. At the moment I'm fighting off the tail end of a menstrual migraine with painkillers, increased fluids, aromatherapy massage, stretches, and the Miracle Ball Method.

Looks like I disproved my own theory. I just started a new pill pack last week after not having pain before/during my period this past month like I usually do. This time, my pain started right before I started the new pill pack, right at the tail end of my period. I don't get it...
