Hello... Dealing with Neuropathy Via Injury

Hello all...

I am new to this please forgive me.. I have very little, but TONS of Questions! I was Crushed by a hot tub (my Mothers Day gift!) Yeah, I can't wait till its out of my house!!! I suffered horrible Breaks to my legs, we thought I had compartment syndrome, and due to the EMG and results I have been diagnosed with Neuropathy from the Knee down.. (FOOT DROP) I cannot Move my foot.. I wear an AFO.. I have recently learned to walk.. I have almost completed several months of PT. I am not Improving.. My Dr's all say I will not Improve. This is not the Biggest of my issues... There are things I cannot get a grasp on things that seem to be happening to my leg and foot.. No one can give me a straight Answer, I need to know if they are normal! Like, My Foot is BLUE, Swollen, Blisters on my toes, My toe nails look like they are going to fall off!?!? Stuff like that.. And suggestions on what to do to make it all stop.. I am very active woman, and work out constantly.. I am used to running.. And was always, running before this happened... I miss it desperately! So they GYM activity has only slowed as far as the RUNNING....

Hi, just wanted to stop by and say hi and Welcome. You have been directed to our Neuropathy forum and that's good.

How on earth did you get crushed by a hot tub? OMG, you poor thing. And as for doctors telling you that you will never improve, SCREW THEM. I was told years ago, "you have neuropathy, and it can't be reversed". I started taking Methyl b-12 supplements and I'm doing very nicely. But I'm diabetic. That's not your case. But I just wanted to tell you not to give up.

Keep posting and I also hope that in the future you find a doctor who will give you HOPE!!!

Take care,

Melody
