butt buzzer question

I am approx one month post op and all of a sudden I am extremely sore at the implant site. Strangely, it was pain free from day one until a week ago.......before I fell. I had my nurse check it and she said everything looks great. There does not appear or feel like there has been a change in position. No fever. No swelling. I frequently rotate position due to fibro pain. It just feels like post op incission pain. Any ideas? Thanks.

It probably has to do with the fall reirritating the area. It's still very soon after your surgery, so there's still some tenderness and everything hasn't set in yet (that takes about 6-8 weeks). It's good news that your nurse checked you and said everything looks good, but if you're still worried you can always have your doctor check as well. I had pain in the area about 8 months after my surgery and in that case my doctor said the battery did move a little bit, but it was nothing to be worried about and the pain went away in about a week or so. Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon :)

Hi Spine

The fall had to have given you some site specific problems. Since doc's office finds no problem with healing, try to let things settle into a post op healilng mode once again, avoid the Boston Marathon participation, go for healing.:D

duh

I miscommunicated. This started before I fell. I have a call in to the surgeon's office for my final appt before being turned back over to pain man. I am not concerned, just confused as to why the site is irritable now. Have a great weekend.

The rep from st Jude told me up to2 or so months pain in the battery area is common as the pocket forms and heals.

I thought that pain free pocket was too good to be true. The sneaky devil was just waiting  I guess I will pass on the cross country skiing for a while. With my luck, I would get hit by a falling branch. Of course, I could use the hospital parking lot. Nah. Not this week.

No snow here, just unbelievable ice. I 65 in this area was closed for most of the day in this area. Today isn't supposed to be much better. Tuesday we are scheduled to spike in mid 60s then get slammed with another polar storm on Wednesday. This weather is not good for the old back. Everything above the buzz is enraged. I am ready for spring.
