Placeo effects occur. They are a problem for clinical trials. For some illnesses they may offer short term gains, but at the cost of a worse prognosis. But, for everyday Parkinson's I believe they offer a wonderful opportunity.
The engineer in me says let's maximise the benefit. I describe how I think it can be done in: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...hlight=placebo I observe that this forum behaves in a similar way. John |
Placebo
The mesh treatment to help inccontence for women may not have had a placebo surgical trial. If it had a trial, it still would not have predicted the effects of weight gain or loss, osteopenia ot many other changes a womens' body undergoes over time.
There are many lawyers trying to make alot of money over an attempt to offer some women embarrased bearing of this problem. Free money to the victims (or cohorts) who signed permission standing they understood the possible outcomes of the surgery. Meanwhile those who obtained relief from the surgery are frightened by all the attorney ads. God laughs at people who make plans, because only he has no concept of time. Stop the circle between Pharmiceutical Companies, Surgeons, Patients, and Lawyers. I am getting off. I am sick of it all. Dianna |
