ER drug question

When I was in the ER after the fall, the attending physician was going to give me percocet for the pain. I said no because I thought it was on the bad list for MG. Is it on the list not to use with MG?

There are no absolutes with drugs and MG, but rather some that must be used with caution. I can, for example, take pain meds with no issue whatsoever but give me a biaxin (antibiotic) or flexeril (muscle relaxer) and I become really weak. It just depends.

You have to weigh the risk/benefit ratio and know that some things warrant a cautious trial of meds as things like pain or infection can also make MG worse.

Hope that helps.

Percocet is a narcotic

Narcotics can slow breathing down and for a Myasthenic, it is a contra-indicated med. Good Job on knowing what is best for you.
After a fall, it is best to make sure that you experience what could occur in the next 24-48 hours after an incident, so that you have the knowledge it happened in case you exacerbate

Check out a website that will show you "myasthenia gravis drug interactions"
