Retreat?

So, I sat down and thought about it today, what about a trip of relaxation like a zen retreat maybe? Something that will get me away from the phone, the computer, and well the stress? I love meeting new people and I am thinking maybe this will give me a chance to start life over.

My neuro-psychologist has been on a couple of these and she loves them. She's done 3 day ones and a week long one. You don't speak AT ALL during these. Can you imagine going a whole week without speaking! All you do is spend the day doing different types of meditating and eating I guess.

I don't think I could do it but I did say to her that if I went on the 3 day one with no talking, no noise, no computers,tv's,cellphones, etc. I'd probably be healed at the end of it! She suggested I try it at home for a day. No talking, no phones, computers, no tv or radio and just spend the day meditating, yoga, taking a bath, sitting quietly.... I haven't tried it yet but I really should!

I think they're quite expensive (retreats) and also I can't handle a car ride for any length of time so I think I'm out of luck on that one. I have a friend that went to one which was not as strict and she was expecting healthy food, yoga, meditating, etc and when she got there the place was dirty and she was so bored within the first half day and disgusted by the dirt that she left and went home.

If it's something you're interested in, you can afford it and safely get to it then I say go for it because I think it could only help! If you decide not to then you can always try a modified in home version ;)

Let us know if you go on one. I'd love to hear about it!
