Tips for the pain

Im being evaluated for possible MS, cancer, or other possible autoImmune diseases, however I haven't gotten a straight diagnosis yet but the pain in my legs is getting unbearable. I was on Norco. Which is like a Vicodin, but that did nothing for my legs. Now I'm trying Tromadol which is weaker and does even less, and I feel like its making it worse. If anyone has any suggestions for relief please let me know. Ill try anything. Thanks.

Right now, they probably don't want to mask the symptoms too much until they can figure out what's going on. I know that seems barbaric -- it's terrible to suffer like this. But they need to know exactly what's going on with you until they can get a handle on what's going on.

If you just cannot stand it anymore, TELL THEM. Be your own advocate, and tell them exactly how you feel. They're workiing for YOU -- so make them give you something stronger!!!. Sometimes we have to stand up and fight for what's due us. Doctors can be stubborn sometimes, but they're not in our body either, and they don't know how much we suffer!

So demand something stronger! Tell them you can't sleep at night, and it's difficult to do anything. I'm sure once they REALLY listen to you, you'll get something stronger. You just have to get them to LISTEN. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee :)

On diagnosis and pain

Pain patches called lidoderm or biofreeze may help. Leesa is right, you may have to hold out for that diagnosis. Get the help, demand to be helped, doctors can and do listen. It is just finding the right doctor who has some empathy. I wish you all the best. ginnie

Thanks you guys for the feedback. I've since had a talk with my doctor. I've been suscribed Norco 10/350 and a naturopathic anti-inflammatory who's
name I can't recall (I'm at work ATM). At this point in time it seems narcotics are going to play a role in my continuing life, against my own wishes. If I can find an alternative way for relief, I'd love to hear other options from anyone here on the boards, that may have tried other options. I stopped my painkillers for a week to see how I would feel and I went right back to square one. Whither from a sligh withdrawal or not it was disturbing how quickly I reset. Again I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong area ( this is my first board meeting lol).
