Eyes

Does RSD cause issues with eyes? I know it does with teeth, but I've had some problems with mine. They go blurry, I cant distinguish between letters and numbers, just weird stuff. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi tkayewade, I asked a question regarding eyes-burning and tearing on January 26, 2013. A couple answers were yes. I do know someone with crps that has eye involvement.
I don't know if that is the case with me, but I've had excessive tearing at times -sometimes one eye -sometimes both eyes along with burning.
I also get blurring during these spells.
I have been researching eye involvement- typing in disregulation of autonomic nervous system and eye tearing- scholorpedia (not sure of spelling) and also wikipedia. They both discuss eyes tearing with dysfunction of the parasympathetic nervous system. Also eye dilation is affected. Sincere crps is definetly a dysfuction of the autonomic nervous system, I believe yes, eyes can be affected.
How are your teeth affected? I do know that it is possible to get it in mouth and it scares me to death going to dentist. I take precautions but still scary. I go twice a year for cleaning and check ups.
Take care, loretta

hi guys the name of the issue with the eyes that can be caused byRSD is iritis
again it is (IRITIS) a minor case is burning tearing of the eyes with some blurring. a worse case is a your iris turning into the shape of a star, and extreme burning swelling pain, and blindness. I hope you only have the minor iritis if you have it, but I pry you do not

Hi painman, Thank you for the info on iritis. I researched it today and since it is continuing, I decided to go to a neuro-opthomologist. I found a board certified one and will make an appointment to check it out. It is an inflammation of the optic nerve. I've been having symptoms for about 3 weeks or so now. Thanks again. loretta:)

Yes, same here! I have all those symptoms unfortunately. I hope it's mild. I'm worried mine has progressed. Thanks for the info painman. That's awesome. It was very helpful.

Hi TK, Sorry you are going thru this too. How is yours progressing? more often or intensity?
Do you have it in both eyes or one? Is it all the time or in 'spells'?
Mine is in both eyes- burning, stinging feeling and lots of tearing along with blurry vision. It last a few minutes then stops. Happens a few times a day. Sometimes it's just in one eye at a time (both left and right)
I researched it today after the post of being ilitis (inflammation of optic nerve) I'm just worried it is related to rsd. I know there can be eye involvement. scary huh!
Do you have full body rsd? I do and don't want any more body parts involved. enough problems without the eyes too. Take care, loretta
